Natural waxes for candle making

Wax

Wax

Wax is used to make garden varnish, polishing compounds, shoe cream, and cosmetics. However, people most often search for wax to make candles, whether for home crafting or mass production for business purposes. Unlike paraffin, wax does not release toxic substances or pollute the environment when burned.

Types of Wax

Depending on its origin, wax is divided into two main groups: plant-based and animal-based.

Recently, wax blends based on natural materials have been gaining popularity. The most common types are soy and coconut wax. They differ in melting temperature, scent, and color.

Soy wax is used in candle making as a standalone material, mixed with other natural oils, or combined with paraffin. Soft coconut wax is known for its pure white shades and fresh coconut aroma. It is primarily used to make container and massage candles. Soy wax is more durable and burns significantly longer, emitting a light milky scent. This versatile material has become widely popular in candle making.
